Blaine's hand seems to be healing nicely. So Locust Avenue decided to have a show. Be sure not to miss it. It's on Friday, April 19 at the Opolis in good old Norman, Oklahoma. This will be the first live performance of the new 5-piece line-up and not something to be missed. You should also be listening to Nonzine's podcasts. They love love love Locust Avenue and play they regularly. They even interviewed them way back in February.
Oh, and Anvil Salute is playing the Norman Music Festival on Saturday, April 26. It's sort of a big deal. It's free, and there's a lot going on that day. Anvil Salute plays at MainSite around 5pm. You should go to that too.

Another new show for Anvil Salute. Thursday March 13th at Pepe Delgados in Norman, OK. Opening for Paul Metzger, ace "modified" guitar & banjo player, who happens to be touring with Tim Kaiser, experimental artist with cracked/home-made electronics. Dig. You should forgot about mid-terms and check it out. Don't forget to go to the show on Tuesday in OKC as well.
Other news. Locust Avenue's newest full-length is ready for mass consumption. It's called Three O' Clock Target, and it's high time people started to take notice of this band. It's a stripped down three-playing with plenty of overdubs and attitude. Read more here. Listen some here. Order one for you, and order one for your friend. You'll be glad for it.

There's a new show for Anvil Salute. First of the year for them, and it's in OKC on Feb. 12. Go see them.
Locust Avenue's "Three O'Clock Target" is almost here. The master is finished. The artwork is done. Now it's off to the manufacturer. So let's say it'll e out in no more than a month. We're terribly excited about it all. Unfortunately, the band won't get to play out much in the next couple of months as we're waiting for Blaine's broken wrist to heal. Next time they do play out, they'll be showcasing their newest member, the guitar-slingin' Todd Walker. A long-time Norman, OK layabout & all-around swell guy. For those of you with an encyclopedic knowledge of music music recognize his name from older bands such as The Golden Eggs, The Todd Walker Band and Defenestration. yeah, that Todd Walker.

Not much news to report just yet. The only thing on the horizon is a new release by Locust Avenue called "Three O'Clock Target". The recordings is done. The mastering is under way. It should be out in time for Groundhog Day or maybe Valentine's Day. Yeah, that would be better as this is an album for lovers. I mean that, seriously. More details later.

Very late news. Very bad of me. Let's say I promised the Greebies CD would be coming out very soon way back in April. Let's say it came out in June, and let's the exigencies of life got in the way so much so that I completely spaced to announce the fact that Yesteryear Again is, in fact, out for public consumption. Now all of this is very much true, and it's a great record especially if you love the 80's-era "College Rock". There are a few songs to listen to on the sounds page. You read more about the release here. That's some good news. Some bad news is that I waited so long to make that announcement and now the only place you can get a copy is from the band itself (& maybe their web site) as I am sold out at the source here. Pretty soon there should be some reviews about it too. I won't take forever in getting those up. I swear.
