This is a pop record. A down tempo, film noir soundtrack to fevered dreams and lost loves. Who's I'm not really sure, but it plays as though it comes from the mind of the bastard son of Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits sans bone machine or backing choir. The vocals are slurred as a gunslinger sashays. That is to say, with a cool demeanor and a hint of violence underneath. Well-crafted, creepy and beautiful, and if anyone tells you otherwise, well then, they're damn dirty liars.

Organic drones and pseudo-free folk from two guys typically operating in a digital context. That is to say, this is atypical from the rest of their catalog only insofar as the instruments used are all acoustic. The results are quite beautiful, sometimes sublime, and, well, like the instruments used... it resonates.

Following the lead of his heroes, Günter, Lopez & Chartier, Spagirus explores a world of lowercase sound and new minimalism. While it doesn't necessarily sound anything like any of those artists, it does mine a similar vein by paying strict attention to the minutiae of sound as well as the voluble silences between. Play it soft. Play it loud. Two completely different experiences; each equally valid.

Honing their sound during marathon jam sessions, these Norman, OK-based rockers dole out a largely improvised melange of funk, dub, jazz, cosmische, freakbeat, electronic space rock. Well, it's pretty darn psychedlic, and it gets the booty shaking. Not a bad mix all in all.
