There are things that shoold not be thought through too much. otherwise one runs the risk of demystifying the object, the event, the sound and relegates it, whatever it happens to be, to a dead world, a world of commodities and things for use. It is better to accept these things as gifts, moments of sartori or aporia, that unfold according to their logic and timing.

Moment Trio offers us 11 tracks as their gifts. Improvised over two days in a recital hall at the University of Oklahoma, they range from slightly jazzy to harsh pseudo-avant garde modern composition. They reveal themselves to be mischievous, difficolt to pin down pieces fitting themselves to different emotions and thoughts upon repeat listen according to their own whims. Very nice indeed.

Limited to 200.

"Constructions One" Deep Water Acres

Posted and reviewed as part of Bones From The Garden at Deep Water Acres (Feb 2006):

Moment Trio, also from the Maritime Fist compound, explores a ragged free sound sculpture that ranges from percussive clang fests to scorched bass and drone rumbles and lots of minimal inbetweens. Mostly enganging, unclassifible journeys that sound like a more spacious cousin to Daniel Padden’s One Ensemble, where the deconstruction reveals brilliantly illuminated passages of solemn transcendence, albeit captured at the bottom of a well; nice echo chamber production.
